We act with love, build our faith and grow as people
On Thursday 10th October we observed Mental Health Awareness Day. Children and staff came into school wearing yellow and green to raise awareness of how we can promote good practises.
We discussed having a mindful moment, movement breaks, exercise, being out in the fresh air, engaging our minds through work and talking to friends.
We raised money to buy extra equipment for each classes well-being box.
In total we raised £172.50. Our School Council will look at items to purchase for each box.
This Year Children's Mental Health Week will take place from 6-12 February. The theme is 'Let's Connect'
In school we will lead assemblies for KS1 and KS2 as well as some class led activities which the teachers will carry out with the children.
All classes will have the opportunity to have a go at Class based yoga which will be led online by a company called Yoga Bugs and in KS2 the children will have an opportunity to have a go at the Three Houses activity. In this activity the children will note down what they think is going well - House of Good, what is not going as well as they would like - House of Worries and what the different aspects of their lives would look like if all their worries were resolved - House of Dreams.
Please do have a look through the Tips for Parents and Carers leaflet below for ideas about how you can help.
