PTA
Welcome to the SMC Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)!
As a parent/carer at SMC you are automatically part of our vibrant PTA community. The SMC PTA is a registered charity dedicated to enhancing the school experience for all our children. We are a group of volunteers who work closely together to support the school, its staff, and—most importantly—our children.
Throughout the year, we organise a wide variety of fundraising events that not only raise vital funds but also build a strong sense of community. Last year, our events included:
School discos
Movie nights
Fireworks Night
Christmas Fair
Non-uniform days
Pre-loved uniform sales
Cake and ice lolly sales
And Summer Fair
Thanks to your incredible support, we typically raise around £10,000 annually. Every penny of profit goes directly toward projects that benefit the children. In recent years, we've funded:
- Christmas pantomimes performed at the school
- Early reading book replacements in line with the new government reading scheme
- iPads to enhance ICT learning
- A dedicated well-being room, used for calm space, 1:1 learning, and health visits
- New early years playground
- Year 6 excellence centre
- New nursery toilets
What’s ahead in 2025–2026?
This year, we’ll be fundraising to support several exciting initiatives, including:
Revamping the KS1 and KS2 outdoor play area
New carpets for Year 6 classrooms
Teaching resource budgets for all year groups
How You Can Help
None of this would be possible without the amazing support of our parent and carer community. We're currently looking for:
PTA Leadership roles
Event volunteers (before, during, and after events)
Donations – funds or items (e.g. paper cups, raffle prizes, etc.)
Skilled volunteers – whether it's face painting, baking, designing flyers, or running a stall—every bit helps!
Whether you can spare a little time or a lot, your involvement makes a big difference.
